I realized I haven't been posting much about my cooking adventures lately. I guess that is because we have been busy with lots of stuff; kids, planning our summer vacation, planning our kitchen renovations, planning various surgeries... it's all never-ending! And in between, I am trying to squeeze in an online portrait class, which I am absolutely loving every minute of.
Anyway, after watching Julie & Julia, my loving (and food-loving) hubby decided to order me both volumes of Mastering the Art of French Cooking. I wasn't really surprised when the books arrived at the door... I have lived with Rich long enough to expect the unexpected- to know that he loves to order things online- to know that he loves to eat- and to know that he loves to make sure I have everything I need in order to deliver tasty dishes to the table! lol
They are really nice books. They just arrived last week, so I have only had a chance to glance through the first volume, but I have seen enough to know what our first dish should be (and will be on the table tonight!): Boeuf Bourguignon. It is nearly ready for the oven and it smells just heavenly in my kitchen, I have to say!
*Here is a photo- it doesn't look nearly as good as it smells or tastes, and the leftovers were even better!
